At Duffy's Corner, we understand that preschoolers are curious, energetic, and beginning to develop key social, emotional, and cognitive skills. Our Preschool Care Program is designed to provide a balanced, enriching environment where children aged 3 to 6 years old can explore, learn, and build confidence in preparation for the next stage of their educational journey.

Our Approach to Toddler Care

We believe in a play-based learning approach that promotes creativity, critical thinking, and independence. Our preschool program balances structured educational activities with free play, providing the opportunity for each child to explore their interests, develop essential life skills, and build positive relationships with peers.

  1. Creative Learning Opportunities
Our educators create hands-on, age-appropriate activities that spark imagination and develop problem-solving skills. Children engage in art, music, dramatic play, and sensory activities that encourage them to think critically and express themselves in a variety of ways.

  2. Social Skills Development
At this age, learning to interact with others is crucial. We provide plenty of opportunities for children to practice cooperation, sharing, and conflict resolution through group play and structured activities. These social experiences help them build friendships and develop a sense of community.

  3. Cognitive Development
We promote early literacy and numeracy through fun, engaging activities like storytelling, letter recognition games, and basic math concepts. Preschoolers explore the world around them through guided exploration, fostering curiosity and a love of learning.

  4. Physical Development
Preschoolers are developing their motor skills, and we provide numerous opportunities for them to practise coordination and strength. From outdoor games to fine motor activities like drawing and building, we help children refine both their gross and fine motor skills.

  5. Health and Safety
We prioritise your child's health and safety by maintaining a clean, secure environment with age-appropriate equipment. Our meals are nutritious, and we follow strict hygiene protocols to ensure that children are always in a safe and healthy environment.

  6. Ongoing Communication with Parents
We value strong partnerships with parents and ensure you’re kept informed about your child’s day-to-day activities, progress, and developmental milestones. You’ll receive regular updates on their learning journey, including feedback on social, emotional, and academic development.

Our Daily Routine:

  • Morning Circle Time: A chance for children to gather, share their thoughts, and begin the day with songs, discussions, and simple activities that foster early communication and group participation.

  • Learning Activities: Hands-on learning opportunities, including arts and crafts, letter and number games, puzzles, and educational storytelling, designed to develop early literacy, numeracy, and problem-solving skills.

  • Outdoor Play: Physical activity in our safe, spacious playground, promoting gross motor development, social interaction, and physical health through play.

  • Snack and Rest Time: Nutritious snacks followed by a quiet period to recharge. Preschoolers are encouraged to take a moment of rest to ensure they are refreshed and ready to engage in more activities.

  • Afternoon Exploration: Creative projects, role-playing, and group games that promote teamwork, creativity, and independent thinking, offering a chance for children to apply what they’ve learned throughout the day.
